I am a painter and illustrator with a background in graphic design and teaching. I draw, sketch, paint, design and get lost in my own world of thoughts, ideas and concepts. Since a few years I’m on a personal journey to grow and develop as an artist.
I work in a variety of mediums, mainly watercolour on paper and silk, both of which allow me to work in an expressionistic way to depict portraits and landscapes.
My focus is on portraiture and human figure which both attract me with their endless characters and uniqueness. I want to capture the essence, spirit and person's character in a simple and expressive way. I favour expressionistic brushwork and exciting textures.
In my landscape work I’m inspired by the life and work of my artist grandmother, who has taught me the silk painting technique. This expressive technique allows for unpredictable colorization and depth, allowing representation of nature in an emotive, romantic way.
